3:15 And just so we're clear, it took the United States close to seven generations to become a stable democracy with universal suffrage and a minimum guarantee of civil rights which remains tenuous to this day.

The Kate character in this scene (and CJ) are incredibly entitled and obnoxious. If I were the President I would have told her that if she ever did that again, I'd fire her on the spot. The man is a peer and is the British Ambassador the the United States. The eye-rolling is. unbelievably childish and rude.

Every single one of these performances is a master class. Regarding the Farsi translator, I recognize the uniform and rank insignia of a US Army major. I think I see the Airborne insignia below his chest candy. What does the braided gold loop signify?

When i watch this series, i know it is fictional, but i think of the Trump presidency. He had an absolute ignorance of the presidency and what it means. Just in the last few days and his complete babble about the Presidential Freedom medal and the Congressional Medal of Honor. Saying that the soldiers receiving the medals are either dead or so badly wounded that they can't enjoy it. That speaks to his ignorance. They aren't given this to enjoy it. It's out of respect that we are honoring them for their courage under dire situations. He doesn't get it and he never will. He never respected the office. It was all a game to him. He not only loves chaos, he thrives on it. When former President Obama spoke last night, he should have mentioned how much he respected the men he ran against in his elections. Senators McCain and Romney were and are decent men who understood the honor and the deep respect for the office of the Presidency. They just happened to have a different philosophy politically. But if either of them had one, i would have been disappointed, but the country would have been in safe hands. I shudder to think of another 4 years where he would be able to wage war on anything he disagrees with. I don't know what kind of President Vice President Harris will make, i truly think she will put the country ahead of anything personal. If we make it through this election, we will never have to worry about Trump running again, he will be too old. Maybe the Republican party can return to a party where it just has political differences with the Democratic party. Return to the fine party of Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Bush Sr., McCain and Lincoln.

It's a subtle nuance, but I like the way that Santos and Vinnick don't share each other point of view and still acknowledge the validity of each other's points. Like when Vinnick asks about the costs and Santos says it doesn't matter. Vinnick persists, the President drops the price tag and Santos gets a look on his face that says, "Yeah, that matters."

Leo McGarry reminds me so much of my dad, who struggled with alcoholism for much of his life and whose own father (an addict) also unalived himself. My dad has been sober for 18 years, over half of my life, but he still goes to meetings every single day (often virtual now) and maintains the mantra of "One Day at a Time". I am so incredibly proud of his sobriety, and I am so lucky to be his daughter. AA, Al-anon and multiple very good therapists saved our family and we recently celebrated 35 years of my parents marriage as a family. I know that addiction makes us all feel so ashamed and hopeless and alone, but please know that you are never alone. There is always hope. And you should never be ashamed (we have all been there before!). Sending so much love to this comment section. Ya'll are amazing.

I remember watching this when it first aired and I definitely shed some tears. John Spencer just seemed like such a lovely man. Art imitating life was way too on the nose during the original airing. But, in retrospect, so beautifully done.

Just mentioning this fact. I got forced out of my home and I was going to f****** die bitch if I didn’t sell it, then people tried to get me to commit suicide. So I sold the house, came to Kansas and spent a month in a motel with my dog. And I had to furnish the house but I had no debt until I got forced to come to Kansas. But my dog got rushed to his death and when they were euthanizing him at the exact moment, someone called me about my debt. And you are not evil? I am certainly not gay. By no stretch of the imagination.

Pres. Walken making it clear; you mess with the USA at this level and it will NOT be a proportionate response. You take an eye, and we will take an eye… and both your arms and legs. A clear contrast between two men and two parties. And exactly why Bartlett had to step down. American interests first, Zoe second. Brilliant writing and acting all the way around.
